Australia (Unofficial pictures) circa 1874
These pictures are from various albums belonging to the crew of HMS Challenger. Initial indications are that they are copies of pictures purchased while in Australia. There may well be duplicates of these images in circulation or private albums.

A fair portion of these images appear in Buchanan's albums held at Christ's College Cambridge. Others stem from Moseley's album at Oxford University. Knowing that Moseley travelled with Campbell from Melbourne to Sydney under their own means, it is possible that these pictures were taken by either fellow.
